Keep Your Furniture Looking Wonderful For A Life Time.
• Our Furniture has been created by hand using traditional methods
• Any irregularities are characteristic of its hand crafted origins.
• Occasionally deviation in colour, grain of wood, even slight splitting or crazing may occur.
• This is part of it’s testimony as a hand crafted individual piece of unique furniture.
• If you want perfection. Buy plastic!!
It starts life as the best cuts of wood, chosen by experts.
These are then prepared for construction. They are then crafted into pieces of furniture you see here today using only
traditional methods.
This involves many hours of work by skilled cabinet makers.
People who pride themselves in creating individual pieces of fine furniture for the individual needs of customers.
After the cabinet maker, come the finishing touches, the sanding, staining and waxing, again using traditional methods. The individual pieces are hand sanded ready for the finishing touches that give your furniture depth and character.
Before the staining and wax can be applied, all surfaces must be smooth and clean. The Ciranova stain is applied then the wax is applied by hand, using a soft brush.
As many coats as necessary are applied to achieve the depth of colour and tone desired.
The finished piece will be smooth to touch and over time your
piece of furniture will gain its own character and patina.
Wood ages gracefully and if cared for correctly, traditionally
hand crafted furniture can be something to be treasured forever and may even become a family heirloom.
An antique of tomorrow.
Your furniture has been finished with a wax called Ciranova wax; we believe this is the best product on the market to care for your wood. Not only does it feed the wood, but it also provides a water repellent layer to prevent damage from spillages.
Taking care of Your Heirloom
Applying the wax is a simple procedure, all surfaces should be clean and free from dust, the wax should then be applied with a
soft paintbrush applying a little at a time and blending in well.
When the wax is dry it can be buffed up to a nice shine using a
soft cloth. This should be done as often as possible. Not only will it give your furniture protection, it will give it age and patina and ensure it stays looking good forever.
You should never use spray polishes on your waxed furniture as this can lead to spotting on the surface of the wood which will
require sanding to remove.
You should also take care with anything hot, such as drinks and plates. Never place anything hot directly on to the surface of your furniture as this may leave distinctive ring marks, which again would need sanding to remove.
If any liquid should accidentally be spilt onto your furniture,
clear it up as quickly as possible, the wax is water repellent, but liquid if left to stand will eventually mark the wood.
Please remember that, everyday wear and tear your furniture will endure, will only add to its character and individualism.
We hope you enjoy your furniture as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.
